Blackpool’s Virtual Pop Idol

Huge applause goes out to South Shore, as two pupils have been successful in the famous annual Blackpool Pop Idol contest! Kaitlyn Fraser in Year 9 won the Key Stage 3 competition with Amy Howard in Year 10 gaining 3rd in the Key Stage 4 contest. Both received medals and trophies from Blackpool Music Service and featured in the Blackpool Gazette. Music Adviser Andrew White commented that ‘The variety of genres chosen by our fabulous Blackpool children were incredible. All participating schools, their teaching staff and competitor’s parents can be proud of every performance. Adjudicators Hayley Kay and Tracey Daniel were amazed at the high musical standards’. A special mention goes to Angela Potter who leads on music at South Shore, for all her support of these two very promising young vocalists. Well done, all!
