CMA on the Beeb

Staff and students at CMA were the stars of a national BBC news bulletin last week, to celebrate the success of the Mentally Healthy Schools Pilot, which has been delivered across the Greater Manchester region by our own Alliance for Learning, in partnership with the Youth Sport Trust. It’s success means that the government is investing more into staff training, student workshops and student mental health ambassadors across the UK.

Feedback about the pilot from children and young people, teachers, parents and carers has been overwhelmingly positive.

82% of schools agree that mental health and wellbeing is spoken about more often in their school

85% agree that there has been a greater interest in looking after the mental health of students and staff

100% of staff agree their school actively promotes mental health and wellbeing of students

96% of staff agree it has been beneficial

100% of middle leaders agreed they were now more likely to consider mental health as a normal part of everyday life

100% of secondary students learned something new

Our Trust has been delighted to help raise awareness and deliver training on such an important issue.
